A Sycophant in Wonderland

Crashing Alias day at Disneyland is fun. Especially when you’ve got California Adventure all to yourself, and you can ride the California Screamin’ roller coaster ten times in a row without having to get off.

Even better is stalking Victor Garber and telling him how much you loved him in Sweeney Todd and Assassins, and how you’ve been scouring used record stores in search of his 1967 folk album — which makes him laugh (“You’ll never find it!”) and (hopefully) marvel at your random knowledge of his long and amazing career.

Better still is Mr. Garber agreeing to take a picture with you and being photo bombed by Jennifer Garner.

He’s a lot taller than I had expected.

This was my Monday, one of the best call-in-slick-to-work days ever …

UPDATE: I did end up finding an LP of The Sugar Shoppe, the 1967 folk album on which Victor — yes, I now call him Victor, even though I haven’t seen him since that day at Disneyland back in ’03 — first unleashed his amazing voice to the world. It was totally worth the dollar I paid for it.
